I need help with my prom...?

It's my first time ever, and I want it to be perfect (so I don't have to look back and say "My god, what was I thinking?!"). It is a formal graduation at a banquet hall (In other words, guys in tuxedos, fancy food, giant grad photos...etc.). Seeing as it's almost graduation, I'm having some trouble.

I need shoes, a dress and a purse, according to my friends. Problem #1: No money...TT ___ TT I'm rather broke. From what I know, dresses are pretty expensive, expecially pretty ones.

Now, I'm about 5'1'' (Short! TT__TT) and have broad shoulders. I'm rather curvy, or so I've been told (Bust=C35). I have pale Asian skin and long straight black hair up to my chest. My broad shoulders and short height make it impossible for me to wear strapless or anything with thin straps without looking disproportioned or fat. My thighs are rather big (8 1/2'' around I think, thanks to swimming. I do wear glasses. My arms are a bit flabby too, just a bit though.
