Well done you for defending your faith, I know NOTHING about Islam at all, but it's good to see that you can give an open and honest reply to people's ignorant comments.

I think that the spelling of the story can't be easily understood.

REPLY TO THE ANSWER BELOW(justnanous):

My mother did go to Saudi Arabia. She went to Mecca. She talked to the people in MOSQUES. She is a DOCTOR.

By the way, justnanous, when's the last time you've been to a mosque in Saudi Arabia?

Read this shocking muslim woman story, what do u think?

I dare you to go to Iraq,Iran or Saudi Arbia and say this in a mosque !! You will find out they don't believe women have rights there..

In India, Muslim women study, work, party, dress like everyone else, even act in movies.... what say?

I get your point but you shortened too many words it's a bit confusing.

i enjoy the independence as well and we are obligated to explain to non-Muslims about the truth of Islam not to convert them but just to make everything clear as you did:)

and i have to say that i am Saudi and that i lived here all my life and yes i can go to a mosque and say all of that and more because yes we all study we all go to universities most of us work and we have our rights and we are breaking the old traditions ( notice i said tradition and not Islam)

Dear, i was very impressd about your confession. No , not all europeans ask so stupid questions, of course i know muslim women are beautiful under their veil. I can understand the need of protection, i once traveled to a muslim country and certainly felt more confortable to cover my hair and body, though not my face, and people were very kind to me because i wore that. In my country a lot of women cover their hair when they go to church, so i can understand you perfectly, as well as your culture.

Only problem is that some women do not want to wear veil, and still are obliged to, and this IS a problem, because each person should have right to decide. It is not your case because you are asian, but mostly in the Middle East.

You a Muslim woman being good and wearing hijab.Nasty comments from people who have no idea about Islam should not make any difference.

Muslim women are beautiful under their covering just like any other woman, it is just that their beauty is not for the market place but for their partners.

Hijab protects the Muslim woman from unwanted stares and lets her keep her dignity in public.

All women have a reason to look at the Hijab and learn its benefits.

I think you are a nice girl, I am Muslim too / for 2 years but I dont cover my hair, i think this is important decision, so if you do it once then you have no way to turn back, and i dont feel this is the right time, maybe later, maybe never, for me its more important how i feel deep in my heart, but its nice to hear stories like yours, take care cheers - ps with Islam i found my inner peace

I do agree with you sister, People don't seem to understand that Muslim women are the most liberated in the world; for once a woman is not judged by the shape of her leg or the length of her hair, but by the content of her mind and the vibrancy of her intellect.

Maa Sha Allah.

I know that Quran preaches equality among men and women, but is this happening in real life? Are the religious leaders preaching peace and harmony as they are suppose to? Why are women in Muslim countries still being given a subservient role to the men?

Is something not being done correctly?

Read this shocking muslim woman story, what do u think?

I think U r absolutely CORRECT about how Islam gives us respect and independence.

I started to wear the "head-scarf" since 11 years old!! And, yep! I find it very useful to me as i don't have to worry about my hair style just like my didn't-wear-head-scarf cousins.

Besides, it's me myself who chose to wear it, not my parents or friends.

In Islam, we r free to choose our way of life as long as it isn't a sin.

I'm an asian girl too. And in Malaysia, muslim women have all the rights to study, work, appear on television and many more!!

ISLAM IS INDEED THE WAY OF LIFE. I'm proud to be a Muslim!! :D

What was the question? We know that Muslim girls have hair under the hijiba. We know you have rights but you must remember that its different in different Muslim countries. The muslim girls in the Arab world do not have the same rights as you do in the West or in Pakistan or India. Try marrying a non Muslim and see your parents reaction.

There are ignorant people everywhere in the world and all they have to do is to read upon different subjects to get to know about other people in the world. Dont laugh so much at people....I have lived in India and Im a European and they asked me silly questions too but they were ignorant so you learn to ignore silly questions.

Did you know that girls don't have the same freedom in Pakistan to go out as you do here? There are a lot of women in Pakistan who remain inside their homes all the time.

First of all honey, lets set the record straight. Its a very small minority of people who are niave enough to think you have a shaved head! Secondly, alot of people must admire you because you have the courage to go against the norm of society and represent your religion and culture which is fascinating.

But one thing I must add - everyone who has a faith finds their faith beautiful. Whether you are Sikh, Hindu, Christian or anything else, we should celebrate this, and not feel that we need to 'set the record straight' because that defeats the point of making a statement in the first place.

Obviously the 閳ユ窔slam閳?practiced in UK is not that practiced in muslim countries. You do have a lot of freedom in UK and other liberal democracies that will not be allowed to you in any Islamic country. For starters, in UK you have the CHOICE of wearing the hijab. Do you think this is so in Islamic countries. Do you know in Islamic countries women have been killed for just putting on lipstick.

Women in Islam do have rights, but go to any Islamic country %26amp; you will find out that these rights depend on your father, brother or husband (practically a woman cannot have an individual existence in Islam).

I agree, Islam has given a woman certain rights some of which were ahead of their times (1400 years ago) but which now are far behind the times now.

For example why should a daughter get half the share of her father閳ユ獨 property and the son one full share. Should not both get an equal share? I can go on %26amp; on 閳?.

Good girl, Sabrina! And congratulations to you for making this decision of your OWN FREE WILL! People just don't understand that covering is a woman's personal perogative. Keep up the good work in educating non-Muslims!

I can understand you well. Many people have misconceptions and are required to be clarified by someone like you.

1. Dr Jemilah Mahmood (MERCY Malaysia President)

2. Princess Nouf (Saudi princess, geneticist)

3. Lubna Olayan (Forbes 100 Most Powerful Woman)

4. Dr Zeti Akhtar Aziz (Asia Pacific Best Central Bank Governor)

5. Lubna Hussain (Saudi writer)

6. Dr Mazlan Othman (Director, UN Office Outer Space Affairs)

7. Fidelma OLeary (Ph.D. Neuroscience)

many many more. my sis is doing BioMed. we're just not on TV. that's all. and if you seek the roots of Judaism %26amp; Christianity (and maybe Hindu as well), you'll see the women also covered up, similar to hijab. look at your Virgin Mary. what is she wearing? :)

There is some decence in the way muslims dress, but we would want to know the true picture of their life style like any other women in the world who do not cover themselves. broght up among many indian muslims, I learnt a worst behaviour of muslim girls not seen in during the day, but doing nast thing in the night. who do they try to fool or hide from during the day to pretend that they dont flirt around like any other human being do. Any way for the sake of day light decence, they have won a Golden medal unlike the kind of dressing that other women show in public. I witnessed an incident in zambia, where men harrassed a woman because she wore a very short skirt and they believe that was very indecent. Please Muslims show your true picture to the world, we know you are beautiful, but dont pretent not to be party of the whole worlds' sexual behaviour by hiding in that veil.
