Why do some mixed races people look full white when they're children?

Hi I'm 18. I'm half white, half persian. I have dark brown eyes, dark hair and olive/tanned skin. When I was younger (under 10), I had light brown hair with blondish tones, fair skin and light brown eyes. I looked full white, there was not a trace of Asian in me. My older brothers always looked mixed raced. My dad even had a DNA test done on me because he didn't think I was his.

So my question is, why do some peoples colouring change

dramatically when they hit puberty? How come some mixed raced people can look very fair when they're children?

I half white and black.I look more white now then when i was younger my features got more refined and I got lighter.Maybe you took more Asian decent than you thought you did.I'm sure you can tell your bi-racial.I don't even look white or black I look Spanish.Olive skin,brown eyes and and my hair not kinky and has blonde in it..

I do not know the answer to your question, it is most probably because we all have a common ancestry.

My son, white, is married to a Sicilian girl, they have two children, one white the other is almost black, darker than his mother.

Lots of babies are born with light blonde hair, and eventually it turns brown dueto pigmentation,aging, the sun is another factor. It's all part of genetics, you may look caucasian because of what u enherited.

We all change as we get older. My family are Anglo-Saxon but some Spanish crept in at some time because I and cousin of mine both developed a darker tan when we became teenagers. We are both in our 50's now and as pasty as any other Angles!

My kids 1/2 Chinese 1/2 European smorgasbord(Irish,English dutch... ...) 100 percent beautiful sorry that's going on with your dad ,maybe other reasons you dint know about makes him think this? Don't worry about your coloring accept yourself you are beautiful as you are! Yes coloration can and does change with age,again love yourself your dad does!

You're generalising too much. It also depends on what mix you are.

all children are lighter in their youth. for example I am blonde, when I was a child I had white hair that progressively got darker and darker until now at the age of (approaching 30) I have dark blonde (yes mousy) hair, that I highlight.

This is the case with most peoples, and has nothing to do with mixed heritage.

truthfully I think everyone darkens up as they age, I know my sister is blonde and blue eyed and she also as she got older her really blonde hair got darker....I am sure you are beautiful! I cant imagine you not being because to me some of the most stunning people in the world are mixed raced, and Asian is a very strong gene pool look at that Jon and Kate plus 8, all their kids look very ASIAN but the mother is white the Dad is Asian...but they all look identical to him! I also know kids can vary! My moms eyes are green and out of five kids I was the only one who got my Dads brown eyes! ALL the other kids eyes are light, but if you get really close to me the inside of my eyes are yellowish green and then get brown towards the edge! Be happy I am sure your kids will be beautiful if you want to breed a different look make sure your husband is light skinned and light eyes....good luck!
