Why are most (not all) trying to copy the Americans?

no offence here but i noticed that (i'm Asian too) more and more Asians are bleaching and dying their hair, wearing colored contacts and are ditching their traditions. Sadly, some Asians don't even want to wear or feel ashamed of putting on their traditional clothes even if its on some festive season. I mean, every culture is unique.... do u have to copy what other people do or practice?

You are right. The uniqueness in every person and every culture is what makes life interesting. The problem with copying is that we need it to learn and progress in life. But we should know when to put an end to it, or at least limit it down as much as possible. As for the copying of other cultures I think advertising is to blame. Ads show a way of living most people could live without and make them crave it, even though they don楹搕 need it.

It's just the merging of cultures. Plenty of Western kids are into anime, manga and the whole Otaku thing. I do agree that culture should be preserved, but I don't think cultures need to be isolated.

Wait, are Americans the only ones who have blond/brown hair and light eyes? Don't the Europeans, too? Not to mention the Australians, New Zealanders, Canadians and South Africans? Clothing is the same worldwide now, for the most part, and it's not exclusively American by any stretch of the imagination.

Being American myself I must say Americans are the best people in the world always willing to lend a helping hand to the underdog but sadly our moral foundation is in a downword spiral and people around the world trying to emulate us from watching t.v.I say emulate the good don't emulate the bad, as there is alot of bad on our tv cause the good shows don't sell as well as the bad ones do Don't ask me why?
