Makeup tips for Asians?

I'm Asian..but I have double eyelids and my eyes are more round...I guess I have normal sized lips...but obviously i have brown-black hair and brown eyes. What would bring out my eyes? is red lipstick too obnoxious?

I'm Asian too, I usually just wear some natural colors for eyeshadow, like brown or golden, try to choose them closest to your skin color. And since you have double eyelids, just apply on it, don't apply above it. Or it would look weird. Sometimes I use a light shade of pink/purple. Just so to brighten up my look a little.

I don't use red lipstick. To me, it's too bold for me. I use pink, not bright pink or hot pink, but like a orange pink, to blend with my skin a little so it wouldn't be so obvious, and I put lip gloss on top, so it shines a little.

Hope it help!

I'd say just some simple eyeliner, any color eyeshadow (if at all) but if you have pale skin i wouldn't do red lipstick, but a pink or nude color. if you are a little tanner then you might be safe tho.

I'm not sure what "double eyelids" means exactly but if your eyes are almond shaped, you probably do not ever, ever, ever need to wear eyeliner on your lower eyelid. Upper eyelid only if you choose to wear eyeliner at all. By applying it to both, you actually make your eyes look smaller but applying it to upper only helps open them up.

Make sure you're putting your blush in the correct place and not using too much. The best way (in my opinion and contrary to popular opinion) to find out where to smile in the mirror and put blush on the cheekbone but never going any farther in than the outer corner of your eye. If you get too much color, just tone it down with loose powder.

To bring out your eyes, use color. Muted color but color. Don't try to do the white eyeshadow thing because your skin is probably too dark for it and it will just wind up looking strange. Stick with neutralish bases and contrast them colors. Greens and warm tones will more than likely work well for you. I would stay away from cools.

And red lipstick on Asians is a great idea!!!!! It has such a powerful, dramatic effect when paired with that dark Asian hair. Find the right red for you though - some have warm undertones and some have cool undertones.

And when in doubt, go to the Clinique counter!! Or whichever brand you wear. They'll be more than happy to show you some different things but do the courtesy of buying at least one item. Keep experimenting! The great thing about makeup is it always washes off if you screw up. And remember that when someone looks at you, you want them to see YOU and not a bunch of makeup - it's meant to enhance your features, not take away from them!!

I'm half Korean- wear whatever. I wear earth tones. i line the bottom of my eye with black liner, dark brown on my lid and dust some copper or gold on top. I don't use blush, just bronzer.

Depends if you're a pale asian though.

blaring fire-engine red is too much for asians to handle, but a subtle, berry red should look sexy and sultry on you. as for eyeshadows, well, all asians have a yellow undertone to their skin and to enhance that, i suggest wearing green eyeshadow. if you have a slightly fairer complexion (not a lot of yellow undertone in your skin) i would suggest a medium purple to bring out your brown eyes. never wear liquid eyeliner b/c that'll make you look dead, instead, make your face glow with a softer brown (i prefer brown, but a little black would be ok too) pencil liner and smudge it for beautiful smoky eyes.

Use yellow based make-up because Asian skin has a yellow undertone.

Use gold, yellow, brown and bronze eyeshadows. It accentuates our skintone.

Don't overdo your make-up. Asian skin is naturally beautiful.
