Black is beautiful?

I would like to know if black people are really ashamed of there looks.I noticed on soul train,that the girls on the show are very light skinned,never have a real dark woman on it,the rest are asian,spanish,with a few blonde whites on it.Their hair is striaughed like a white womans,and i even seen blonde light skinned (black?) girls.Also on other black shows on t.v the wifes and girlfriends of the men stars are very light skinned blacks,why? Never seen a dark skinned black girl ,like the ones in africa on these shows? You tell me,and don't call me a racist cause i am a real dark black woman!

I agree with you. It's a nationwide conspiracy to show how highly revered the lighter skinned women are when dark skinned women are just as beautiful. History shows that the darker slaves were treated worse than the lighter ones. It's just another bit a negative mentality that was adopted and has stuck with us for centuries.

i think black is gorgeous!i had a black girlfriend when i was alot younger %26amp; im white.she wasnt my gf but we were friends at work.

it was new years %26amp; everyone was hugging each other,so i hugged her %26amp; i started to feel her as*. lol

Well i can tell you I'm a Latino, but i have real dark skinned black friends and they also ask the same question...i mean even i dont get it...but i dont think it's because they are ashamed of the darker colour...this thing stems all the way back to slavery days, with the mixed race, or mulato generation, and it was always thought that the lighter the skin tone the more beautiful the woman was (i dont agree with this) because my friends are some of the most beautiful dark skinned women i have seen...but it's true that even some black people are critisizing their own for being so dark...i think that they have been so brainwashed by the white mans ideas to look more european, and so they seem to loose their whole identity of what is so beautiful about being black....i know i'm not black but i just have to stick up for my black sisters.
